Scholarship Opportunities

The search for colleges and scholarships go hand in hand.  Fortunately, there are thousands of scholarships out there — if you can find them.  Two ways to research opportunities include stopping by OLMA’s Guidance office and utilizing your Naviance account.  Below is a list of current opportunities,  We will update this list as new scholarships become available, so please check back often.

2020 Scholarship Opportunities:

New Jersey Credit Union Foundation Scholarship: The New Jersey Credit Union Foundation’s scholarship is an award of $1,000 to be paid jointly to the winning student and the student’s chosen accredited educational institution.  The applicant must be a member in good standing of a 2019-2020 Scholarship Program participating credit union and be enrolled as a high school senior at the time of the application.  Applications can be found at . GVCC Luigi A. Tramontana, Sr. Memorial Scholarship:  A scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who is planning to continue his/her education at a recognized college or university in environmental sciences or a business related course of study.  Applicants must be an active participant in school and community activities and demonstrate academic responsibility.  Please see Guidance for an application.  Deadline for submission is June 1, 2020.

El Dabe Ritter Scholarship – This $1,500 scholarship is available to any high school senior in the United States that desires to apply.  More information and the scholarship application can be found at  Deadline for submission is June 30, 2020.

Law Offices of Peter N. Davis and Associates, LLC – This annual scholarship is available to college students in New Jersey or Pennsylvania who have been accepted to or are enrolled in a 2-year college or 4-year university with a GPA of at least 3.0.  One student will be selected to receive $1,000 in scholarship funds and two students will be selected to receive $500 each in scholarship funds based on their winning essay response.  Application can be found at  Deadline for submission is May 15, 2020.

Margate City Fire Department Mutual Benevolent Association Kevin P. O’Hara Scholarship – Four $1000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors that are Margate City residents and will be attending an accredited College or University during the Fall of 2020.  Scholarship winners will be selected on the basis of financial need, extracurricular activities and academics.  Please see Guidance Department for an application.  Deadline for submission is April 3, 2020.

Austin H. and Florence V. Swackhamer Educational Scholarship – The A&F Swackhamer Memorial Scholarship Trust is providing scholarships for deserving students attending high school in Gloucester County, New Jersey that demonstrate academic achievement and financial need. Eligible scholarship candidates can apply online at  Deadline for submission is March 9, 2020.

Gloucester Township Day Scholarship Committee – The Gloucester Township Day Scholarship Committee will award 50 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to be applied toward expenses at an accredited college or university.  To be eligible, students must reside in Gloucester Township, earn a score of at least 800 on the SAT or a Composite Score of at least 17 on the ACT, and rank in the top 50% of her class or have a GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.  Please see Guidance for an application.  Deadline for submission is February 21, 2020.

Janet Logan Daily Foundation Scholarship:  Managed by the Janet Logan Daily Foundation, the Janet Logan Daily Scholarship is available to New Jersey students that have demonstrated academic success and community involvement.  Students must be a legal New Jersey resident who has been working a part time job and been involved with extracurricular activities since the age of 16.  Students must have achieved at least a 2.5 GPA.  The application and more information can be found at  Deadline for submission is April 1, 2020.

Melissa Anne Centrella Scholarship: This $3,000 renewable scholarship funded by Melissa’s Hope honors Melissa Anne Centrella, an educational community member.  Students must be a New Jersey resident with a 3.0 cumulative GPA.  Students must provide transcripts and demonstrate community involvement.  The application and more information can be found at .  Deadline for submission is March 15, 2020.
