Scholarship Opportunities

The search for colleges and scholarships go hand in hand.  Fortunately, there are thousands of scholarships out there — if you can find them.  Two ways to research opportunities include stopping by OLMA’s Guidance office and utilizing your Naviance account.  

Below is a list of opportunities from 2017 (to give you an idea of the variety you can expect).  NEW Scholarship Opportunities for 2018 graduates will be posted soon.  

2017 Sampling:

8th Annual Dunkin’ Donuts Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program — Applicants must be high school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the fall of 2017.  Scholarship recipients will be accepted on the basis of “well-rounded” character:  positive academic record, demonstrated leadership, commitment to school and community activities, and experience in work environment.  The application can be found at:  Deadline to apply is April 17, 2017.

Washington Township Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Foundation — To be eligible for this scholarship, students must currently reside in Washington Township, Gloucester County, NJ. Washington Township consists of residents in Sewell, Turnersville, also included are parts of Blackwood and Sicklerville, though they must be in Gloucester County, not Camden County.  In addition, students must be pursuing a college major in the field of business, marketing, accounting or finance.  Applications are due by April 15 and may be downloaded here.

Gloucester County Hero Scholarship Fund, Inc. — This program awards several $500 scholarships to qualified individuals who are furthering their education in ANY post-secondary institution (college, Vocational Technical, etc.).  Application deadline is May 5.  Please see Mrs. Szawlewicz for a copy of the application.

Louis Family Foundation Scholarships — These $4,000 scholarship (25 awards available) will be awarded to students who will be a freshmen in the 2017-2018 academic year and anticipate enrolling in a U.S. accredited college/university.  Applicants must have a cumulative, un-weighted grade point average of between 3.5 and 4.0.  Click on the link that follows to access the application: Deadline is March 31, 2017.

Margate Business Association — This scholarship is awarded to residents of Margate and Longport.  Deadline:  March 21.  Click here for more information and the application:

Atlantic Audubon Society — This award is available to a student who is planning a career in the sciences.  Deadline:  April 15.  Please click here for the application:

Northfield Mother’s League — Awarded to an exemplary student who resides in Northfield, NJ.  Please see Mrs. Szawlewicz for a copy of the application.

Gloucester Township Day Scholarship — This scholarship recognizes a student who is a resident of Gloucester Township, NJ, who has a combined SAT score of at least 800 and a GPA of 2.5.   Deadline this month.  Please see Mrs. Szawlewicz for a copy of the application.

South Jersey AAA — This opportunity is open to students who reside in the counties of Camden, Gloucester, Salem  or Cumberland.  Deadline:  March 31.  Click here for more information and the application:

New Jersey Utilities Association — Awarded to students pursuing a trade or vocational degree.  Deadline:  April 8.  Click here for more information and the application:

New Jersey Electronic Security Association — This is awarded to the daughter of an active duty police or fire department employee.  Deadline:  March 10.  Click here for more information and the application:

Aaron Ploch Memorial Scholarship — Applicants must be current members of the school’s swim or soccer team.  See Mrs. Szawlewicz for a copy of the application.

PDK Scholarship — This is awarded to a student who intends to major in Education.  Deadline:  April 2.  Click here for more information and the application:

New Jersey State Elks — This scholarship is awarded to students who have financial need and have physical and/or learning disabilities. Deadline:  Mid April.  Follow the link to access the application:

Jeffery K. Israelow and R. Robert Fleming Scholarship Fund – There are two scholarships available to high school students who are full-time residents of Cape May County.  Please see Mrs. Szawlewicz for an application.

The Toni Donato-Bolis & Baby RJ Foundation Scholarship — Available to seniors who plan to continue their studies at any accredited college, university or institute of higher learning. Students will be chosen based on their academic achievements and passion for serving those in need.  Apply ASAP.  For more information, click here:

GVCC Luigi A. Tramontana Sr. Memorial Scholarship — Available to a senior who is planning to study environmental sciences or business including agriculture, animal, plant, aquaculture, or related fields.  Deadline:  June 1.  For the application, click here:

The Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship — This scholarship is open to juniors and seniors.  Applicants must write a 500-word essay on “What My Municipal Government Does Best.” Applications must be returned to your hometown mayor’s office.  Deadline:  March 10.  Follow this link to the application:

Vineland Jersey Fresh Festival Scholarship — For a senior who is planning to continue his/her education at a recognized school or college for the study of agriculture, environmental sciences, animals, plants, aquaculture, or related fields.  Deadline:  April 30.  Click for the application:

Janet Logan Daily Foundation Scholarship — This award recognizes a college bound student who has demonstrated maturity and integrity within and beyond the classroom.  Deadline:  April 1.  Complete the digital scholarship here:

Knights of Columbus Council 6893 — This $1,500 scholarship is for any high senior with a GPA of 2.5 or better who has demonstrated outstanding achievements in their school, church and community.  The recipient must be planning to attend a four-year accredited college or university, or an accredited two-year college.  Deadline:  April 25.  Please see Mrs. Szawlewicz for a copy of the application.

Atlantic County International Association of Insurance Professionals — This organization is sponsoring four $500 scholarships to an Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, or Salem County high school senior who will pursue a degree from any college or university.  Deadline:  April 29.  Please Mrs. Szawlewicz for a copy of the application.
