The Class of 2020 grew by five students this year. One of the newest members of our Sophomore class is Rachel Donahue who transferred to us from Paul VI High School. While the decision to make the switch wasn’t an easy one, Rachel couldn’t be happier now that she’s here.
“My middle school was very small, so I wanted to try something bigger, which is why I initially chose to attend Paul VI,” said Rachel. “After a few months there, I knew something wasn’t quite right. I had lots of friends, but missed the smaller environment. Academically I did okay, but wasn’t nearly as focused as I am now. Plus, everyone at OLMA is so genuine. I love it here.”
Rachel didn’t waste anytime getting involved in the life of our school. Already a club volleyball player, Rachel joined ours and is the libero for OLMA’s JV team. During the winter season, Rachel plans on joining the Cheerleading team. She’s a flyer and looks forward to cheering for both Prep and OLMA.
Academically, Rachel is doing well and says that she loves all of her classes. She’s also especially excited about Mini-Mesters. These 35-hour, intensive courses will take place from June 4-12. Rachel selected the Canada trip. “This will be my first time out of the country,” she said. “I can’t wait!”
We can’t either. Keep up the good work, Rachel. We are so glad you’re here.
