OLMA Freshmen, Madeline Fawcett is destined for greatness. She’s an excellent student, a natural on stage, an athlete, and eager to try new things. Best of all, she has known since the 6th Grade that OLMA was where she would spend her high school years. “I shadowed when I was in 6th grade and immediately fell in love,” said Madeline. “I never bothered looking anywhere else because of the way OLMA made me feel. Teachers and students were so welcoming and really seemed to care about me, like a sister would.”
Now that she’s here, OLMA is all that she hoped for and more and enjoys being part of a small class. “I love it,” said Madeline. “We have a special bond and even when we’re not all getting along for some reason, we know it will be okay because we are family.” Madeline is Vice President of her class and especially excited about the upcoming Freshmen sleepover. “I can’t wait and hope to be able to do more things that will help us to get even closer as a class,” she said.
One of Madeline’s favorite parts of her Freshmen year so far was having the opportunity to play Virginia in the OLMA/PREP musical. “Theater is my way of expressing myself,” said Madeline. “I’ve always loved acting and singing and this year’s show enabled me to do both. It was so much fun and from day one, the entire cast became great friends.” Madeline also performs with the Triple Threat Workshop for Kids in Vineland and at The Levoy Theatre in Millville, where she lives.
Madeline’s most recent challenge is rowing crew. “I’ve never done it before, but it’s great so far,” she said. “We started training indoors this winter and will be on the water for the first time this week. It’s a huge commitment and a lot of work, but I know it will all pay off.”
With you in the boat, we have no doubt that it will. We are so glad you’re here and can’t wait to see what you do next.
