OLMA’s Ava Stefano, Class of 2016, who is studying nursing at Widener University, is one of nine freshmen to be named Apogee Scholars by the Oskin Leadership Institute at Widener. This designation recognizes her high potential for leading change on campus and in her community. Ava was also a recipient of the Widener High School Leadership Award and received a $20,000 scholarship to attend Widener.

As Apogee Scholars, the students will be asked to complete the 18 workshops required for a Widener Leadership Certificate by the end of their sophomore year. Once they earn their certificate, the Apogee Scholars will be involved in all aspects of the Oskin Leadership Institute, including serving as leadership coaches for new students and designing and facilitating their own leadership workshops.

Congratulations, Ava! We are so proud of you!
